CLUB ACTIVITIES

YOUTH APPRECIATION WEEK:  Recognize deserving Plant City area young people and their families at a banquet held in their honor.

 

YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL PROGRAM:  In cooperation with the Plant City Recreation Department, the Club furnishes support each fall for over 400 boys and girls ages 4-14 on 40 teams.  The League Director and several officials are Club members.

 

YOUTH BASKETBALL PROGRAM:  In cooperation with the Plant City Recreation Department, the Club furnishes support each winter for over 520 boys and girls ages 8-16 on 48 teams.  The League Director, many coaches, and several officials are Club members.

 

BASKETBALL TRI-STAR COMPETITION:  Competitive skills (passing, shooting, and dribbling) contest each winter serving about 180 youths ages 8-16.  Awards are given to the top three boys and girls in each age group.

 

ORATORICAL CONTEST:  Judged competition each winter for youths under 16, with awards for top three boys and top three girls.  Refreshments for all attendees and contestants.  Boy and girl winners advance through Zone, Region, and chance to win $1,500 scholarship at State level.

 

CITY-WIDE EASTER EGG HUNT:  Co-sponsor with the Recreation Department and other clubs, providing egg hiders, group leaders, hotdog cooks and servers for over 800 youths.

 

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL TEAM:  The Club sponsors a Little League baseball team each spring under the Club’s name.

 

RESPECT FOR LAW PROGRAM:  The Club recognizes the efforts of area law enforcement by honoring an individual or group with a banquet.

 

YOUTH SOCCER PROGRAM:  In cooperation with the Plant City Recreation Department, the Club furnishes support each spring for over 1550 boys and girls ages 4-19 on 140 teams.  The League Director is a member of the Club, as well as many coaches.

 

KID CARE PACKS:  The Club donates stuffed bears and coloring books to the Plant City Police Department for officers to provide children in traumatic situations.
